I heard a sermon recently that made it very plain to me that God has a very specific assignment for you and me. It reminded me of an old television series–Mission Impossible and more recently, a movie series. It always started off with, “Your mission, should you choose to accept it.” 

So what is this mission, this assignment? Since we are the Body of Christ and His representatives in the earth, we have the same assignment that He had. He came preaching the Kingdom of God providing the way and being the Way for us to see and enter into His Kingdom. And yes, we preach and proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom. But we also must take on His assignment. What was His assignment?

But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. 

Matthew 24:14b

This mission/assignment is impossible if you attempt to do it in your own strength. But when you understand and accept the truth that you are merely a vessel in the Hands of the One who specializes in impossible missions, you enter into a dimension in the Glory realm. In this Glory realm, by faith, we step out of time into eternity where nothing is impossible with God. Just as the atmosphere of the earth is air, the Glory is the atmosphere of heaven. And Glory is the manifest Presence of God. We have the opportunity to co-labor with God!!! Will you choose to accept this impossible mission?

So, let’s be clear: 

Our mission is to preach the gospel of the Kingdom and to destroy the works of the devil! 

We have to know and be fully persuaded that the victory has already been won by our Lord and King, Jesus Christ and in Him we are Victorious!!! We have to function and operate as the spirit beings God created us to be. We have to use the power and authority we have been given to wage warfare fully clothed in the whole Armor of God. We have to effectively use the weapons of our warfare to put down any insurrection of the enemy in our lives. We are Intrepid Warriors forcefully invading the enemy’s camps and taking back everything he stole from us! We are advancing the Kingdom and persistently gaining new territories in the realms of darkness with the Light of Truth. We shine the light!!! We are the light!!!

We see the Victory! Our eyes are on the One Who has already defeated all the forces of evil, our Victorious King. He is our Victory!!! The battle belongs to Him!!! And as we follow Him, as we yield and submit to His Lordship, we are Victorious. We are looking unto Jesus, the Word of God (Revelation 19:13). We keep our eyes fixed on Him and we follow Him into our own personal and corporate victory as saints of the Most High God. 

I love the lyrics to this song– “See a Victory.” It reminds me that my victory is assured because my eyes are on Him and He never fails!an
