And having done all, stand!

I get a little irritated when I ask someone how they are doing and they say something like, “I’m hanging in there.”  I mean where is that in the Bible??? The only thing I remember in the Bible about hanging is when Judas went out and hung himself. That couldn’t be what they are referring to! Is it???

I always want to tell them, “Beloved, don’t hang yourself with the words of your mouth!”

There are so many Christians who do not know that the words they speak are prophesying their future. The power of death and life is in the words that come out of your mouth!!! We have to learn to speak life into our situations and circumstances and t speak life to those in our sphere of influence. But I degrees…

Let’s get back to the Word!!! Instead of talking about hanging, sisters, let’s talk about standing. Let’s not be hanging or dangling in the air. Let’s be standing on the firm foundation of the Truth of God’s Word!!!

Here are some “standing” Scriptures for you:

Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

1 Corinthians 16:13 ESV

Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.

Exodus 14:13

Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Ephesians 6:11

Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel. Philippians 1:27

So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter. 2 Thessalonians 2:15

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand, therefore… Ephesians 6:13-14a

When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever. Proverbs 10:25 NIV

Ultimately, the Truth is what, or I should say Who we are standing on.

He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life!

Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

He is our sure foundation.

Therefore the Lord God said: “Look, I have laid a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will be unshakable. Isaiah 28:16 CSB

He is the Word of God.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

He is the Solid Rock

Therefore the Lord God said: “Look, I have laid a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will be unshakable. Isaiah 28:16 CSB

Is your life built on that firm foundation?

In my quiet time the other day, I heard the Lord say,

Yes, there will be moving and shaking and changing to come, but those whose lives are built on the Rock will not be shaken. Those whose foundations are sure will not falter or fall.”

And that reminded me of that old song– “My Hope” written in 1834 by Edward Mote, a Baptist Pastor.

My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less

My hope is built on nothing less

Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness

I dare not trust the sweetest frame

But wholly lean on Jesus’ name

On Christ the solid rock I stand

All other ground is sinking sand

All other ground is sinking sand
