Have you ever wondered how it would be possible to pray without ceasing? I guess there must be something wrong with my concept of prayer if I don’t get what the Apostle Paul is saying in this Scripture verse. And yes!!! That the whole verse–”pray without ceasing!” And I really believe that God would not tell us to do something that we did not have the capacity and capability of doing. Right? So there must be something we are missing here.
So, I had this little conversation with God about this and this is what I heard Him say:
“What is prayer? It is a moment-by-moment conversation with Me. It is so much MORE than is commonly believed. It is the basis and foundation of My relationship with you and with My people. Why would you limit that to a few minutes a day??? Your whole life should be considered a prayer.”
Wow!!! What???
Prayer– an on-going, moment-by-moment conversation with God? Prayer–a relationship with God? My whole life is a prayer???
Something to think about! What are your thoughts about this? Can you imagine what your life would be like if you made it a prayer? A conversation with God?
Ephesians 6:18b says:
Pray passionately in the Spirit, as you constantly intercede with every form of prayer at all times. Pray the blessings of God upon all his believers.
The Life Application Bible commentary on that verse says:
“How can anyone pray at all times? One way is to make quick, brief prayers a habit as you respond to every situation you encounter throughout the day. These can be simple requests for help or spontaneous thanks for the beauty around you. In addition, you can order your life around God’s desires and teachings so that your very life becomes a prayer. You don’t have to isolate yourself from other people and from daily work in order to pray constantly. You can make prayer your life and your life a prayer while living in a world that needs God’s powerful influence. We also should pray for all believers in Christ; pray for the Christians you know and for the church around the world.”
With this kind of concept of prayer, we can partner with God to make a difference in our world. We can hear His heart and pray all kinds of prayer to impact and influence His Kingdom and the world.

A Prayer
God, I want my whole life to be a prayer. Make me more and more sensitive to You because You are in me in the Person of Holy Spirit. I want that kind of intimate relationship with You where we can talk about anything and everything as I go through my day. Remove every hindrance and block every lie of the enemy that tries to keep me from knowing You and walking and talking with You moment by moment. Thank You for loving me so much that You want to not only be my God, but also to be my Best Friend. Thank You that I can be Your co-partner and Your Kingdom representative in the earth as I make my whole life a prayer in relationship with You!

Good commentary Jo an established relationship between the Holy One and you.
A constant pray life keeps us connected. So when life tosses us a blow we can instantly respond because we have Gods attention because all day long you have been in his presence having one on one conversation.
I love the fact that we can have small talks throughout the day and it doesn’t have to be long, drawn out prayer’s but spontaneous conversations with our father. We matter to him that much that he is interested in the Big and Little things in our life. Thank you Jesus 🙏🏽
it very important to talk to God every day. it builds your relationship with him. His advise is always right.
I believe prayer is continual dialogue with Holy Spirit. So, it is absolutely possible to pray without ceasing. If you really think about it Holy Spirit is leading and guiding us into all truth. We should not be asking him for advice we should be completely yielded to him and follow wherever and however he leads. We were redeemed and it’s no longer our life it belongs to him. The old man is gone. We traded our old life for his new life.

God is looking for ambassadors to represent him in his character and integrity. The only way to truly do it is to be continuously connected and in fellowship with him. He has done the work we just need to deny ourselves and obey him. We must remain attached to the vine. John 15. and pray without ceasing.!
