The Apostle Paul made an empassioned plea to the believers in Rome to make the renewing of their minds a priority (Romans 12:1-2). He impressed upon them the fact that they had to allow God to change the way they think.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Romans 12:2a NLT
This transformation has to begin with the way we think and by changing the way we think we can become that new person. And this new person is a powerful, born-again spirit that is able to function effectively as a Kingdom Ambassador. God wants this new person to assume the duties He originally assigned to Adam–to govern and subdue the earth.
Yes, we have been given the power and the authority to govern and subdue, but we have to lean how to think like Kingdom conquerors!
Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the thing that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3 AMP
